A PLACE to HANG the MOON BY: Kate Albus

Orphans, abandoned children, no mother, no father. That’s what William, Edmund, and Anna are in A Place To Hang the Moon by: Kate Albus. Their grandma whom they dislike dies,  so they travel away to find a family. William Edmund Anna head to the British countryside of World War ll, finding a foster family (the Foresters). The Foresters’ sons Jack and Simon hate the main characters. it’s on the way back from school that they discover the town library, and the kind hearted librarian Mrs. Muller. It’s Edmund who snaps with Jack and Simon, after they eat his candy (valuable in the countryside in WW2). He hides A dead snake in their beds. In retaliation Jack and Simon vandalize the school and hide the evidence in Edmunds pack, getting their trio kicked out of the house. They hope to get placed with Mrs. Muller, but instead get placed with a cheapskate looking for a quick buck( Mrs.Griffiths). Who is also fostering three other kids for money but doesn’t love them, she just wants them for the money. Will they ever make amends with the foresters? Will they ever find their perfect home?
